London North Eastern Railway has unveiled a new Azuma train named Remember to honour the service and sacrifice of military personnel. The York Press reported that the moving tribute features the story of Lance Corporal James Wilkinson and his military working dog, Tam. [1]

Lance Corporal Wilkinson grew up in Nunburnholme, near Pocklington, and attended Woldgate School. The York Press reported that he served with the Royal Army Veterinary Corps during his military career. [1]

During his third deployment to Afghanistan in June 2011, Lance Corporal Wilkinson was seriously injured by an improvised explosive device. According to The York Press, his loyal Army dog Tam helped save his life during his service. [1]

The tribute train is now travelling across the country to bring attention to the stories of courage demonstrated by armed forces personnel. The unveiling serves as a national reminder of military dedication and resilience. [1]
