The United States Marine Corps has begun deploying new medical equipment designed to treat wounded personnel near the front lines when fast evacuation is not possible, Business Insider reported. The updated technology is intended to keep injured service members alive during future conflicts where transport to a hospital could be delayed for hours or days. [1]

According to Business Insider, the deployed equipment includes lighter mobile blood coolers, upgraded blood warmers, and compact artificial intelligence-assisted ultrasound devices. The smaller tools allow Navy corpsmen and medical providers to identify internal trauma and manage life-threatening blood loss without carrying bulky gear. [1]

Marine forces integrate ground, air, and logistics elements into scalable task forces capable of responding to global crises. The United States Marine Corps currently includes approximately 170,000 active-duty personnel. [3]
