Veolia has established a new emergency response hub in New Delhi, India, to rapidly deploy mobile water-treatment units and trained personnel across South and Southeast Asia, The Economic Times reported. The company opened the VeoliaForce Hub as climate-related disasters rise and water security becomes an urgent concern across the region. [1]
According to The Economic Times, the New Delhi facility will accommodate specialized mobile water-treatment equipment. The hub will train an initial group of 25 employees who will deploy and manage the systems directly in disaster-affected areas throughout South and Southeast Asia. The company has committed over 1 million euros globally to its emergency response initiatives. David Poinard, Executive Officer of the Veolia Foundation, and Guillaume Dourdin, CEO of Veolia India, discussed the investment behind the initiative. [1]
Veolia was originally established on December 14, 1853, under the name Compagnie Générale des Eaux to provide public water distribution services. Disaster risk reduction initiatives aim to make communities stronger, reduce vulnerability, and limit the severity of damage when disasters occur. [3][4]
As HEROIC BREAKING NEWS reported earlier, private organizations have increasingly partnered with emergency relief operations, including logistics company Rhenus opening a permanent Aid and Relief office at Dubai Humanitarian in October 2026 to collaborate with global aid agencies. [7]
