Logistics firm Rhenus opened its first permanent emergency Aid and Relief logistics office inside the Dubai Humanitarian hub on 14 October 2026. According to the American Journal of Transportation, the office was officially inaugurated during a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The move places the logistics company directly alongside United Nations agencies, non-governmental organizations, and global donors. [1]

The American Journal of Transportation reported that the new facility marks the next step in the development of Rhenus within the humanitarian logistics sector. Earlier in 2026, the company established initial activities inside the hub, built cross-border transport solutions, and secured its operational status in the Dubai Humanitarian Free Zone. [1]

Dubai Humanitarian, previously known as the International Humanitarian City, was founded in 2003 by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai. It serves as a dedicated United Arab Emirates free zone designed for international emergency preparedness and rapid response efforts. [4]

By establishing a physical presence within the hub, Rhenus aims to support streamlined aid supply chains and improve regional transport coordination alongside major emergency response organizations during global crises, as reported by the American Journal of Transportation. [1]
