The United Arab Emirates Aid Agency signed a 3 million dollar cooperation agreement with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, according to WAM, Big News Network, and The National. The funding is designated to support the protection and reintegration of people returning to Afghanistan, with a focus on women and children. [1][2][3]

The agreement was publicly announced during the agency participation in AIDEX 2026, as reported by WAM. The humanitarian aid and disaster relief exhibition and conference took place in Geneva on October 21 and October 22. [1]

The financial initiative will provide permanent support measures for returning families facing reintegration challenges in Afghanistan, WAM reported. Decades of conflict in the country have contributed to chronic poverty and a continued reliance on international aid efforts. [1][7]
