Army personnel from Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia completed a joint disaster relief exercise to strengthen search and rescue capabilities and regional cooperation, according to reports from The Star and Tuoi Tre News. The drill took place on October 9 at the Vietnam People's Army training centre. [1][5]

The Star reported that the second Joint Disaster Relief Exercise involved senior military officials, disaster relief steering committees, exercise commanders, and rescue teams. The exercise was designed to evaluate preparedness and streamline joint efforts when responding to natural disasters and regional emergencies. Participants included Vietnam's Deputy Minister of National Defence. [1]

Vietnam borders Laos and Cambodia to the west along mainland Southeast Asia. The three neighboring nations have continued to build joint civil defense initiatives to ensure faster coordination during emergency situations. [5][6]
