Kenya will host a joint African air forces exercise in 2027 to prepare military personnel for humanitarian disaster responses. Capital FM Africa reported that the exercise aims to test how participating nations coordinate air operations during flood emergencies and other severe crises. [1]

The inaugural Association of African Air Forces Command Post and Field Training Exercise will take place across Nairobi, Kisumu, and Busia. Capital FM Africa reported that the event will combine operational planning simulations with live flying drills to build regional emergency capabilities. Africa.com also reported that the Kenya Air Force is driving the integration of regional air power for multinational disaster response. [1][2]

Preparations for the exercise are being coordinated directly by the Kenya Air Force alongside the United States Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa, according to Capital FM Africa. [1]

The United States Africa Command oversees American military relations and operations across 53 African nations from its headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany.
