A personal trainer from Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, is facing a £10,000 medical bill after intervening to save a teenager from running into traffic, AOL.co.uk and the Daily Mirror reported. Ruth Forbes, aged 43, was walking along a high street when she spotted a teenager who appeared to be drunk. Fearing that the girl was about to run into busy traffic and be hit by a car, Forbes stepped in and grabbed hold of her to keep her safe. [1][2]

According to AOL.co.uk, the teenager reacted aggressively to the intervention by lashing out at Forbes. The teenager kicked Forbes directly in the face, which caused the personal trainer to lose her balance and fall backwards onto the ground. Forbes sustained a leg injury during the fall and suffered a visible bruise on her eye from the physical blow. [1]

AOL.co.uk reported that Forbes now requires a partial knee replacement surgery to treat the physical damage caused by the fall. The £10,000 cost of the procedure and her physical limitations have made it difficult for her to earn a living as a personal trainer. Despite the financial burden and injury, Forbes stated that she will continue to help strangers. [1]
