The city of Bridgeport honored Mackenzie Holmes with its Good Samaritan award for helping to save the life of Daniel Rowan, WDTV 5 reported. Holmes stepped in to perform CPR after he saw Rowan lying on the floor needing urgent assistance while playing basketball. [1]

Three weeks after performing the lifesaving CPR, Holmes was able to meet Rowan in person and shake his hand, according to WDTV 5. Holmes stated that knowing Rowan is now at home with his wife and family was the most rewarding outcome he could ask for. [1]

The city officially recognized Holmes for his courage, compassion, and extraordinary service to the community. Bridgeport is also known as a stopover point for regional commuter transport in Connecticut, such as historical flights operating between New York City and Boston. [1][2]
