Newcastle College lecturer Karen Pyle has publicly thanked her colleague Jessica Beni for saving her life by performing CPR when she suffered a cardiac arrest in her office earlier this year, Chronicle Live reported. Pyle, aged 53, went into cardiac arrest during what began as a normal workday. [1]

According to Chronicle Live, Pyle remembered only waking up at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle. She later discovered that Beni had administered continuous CPR until emergency services arrived at the scene. [1]

Pyle spoke about the experience on Restart a Heart Day to highlight the critical importance of CPR training, Chronicle Live reported. [1]

As HEROIC BREAKING NEWS reported earlier, CPR training has recently proven vital in other workplaces, including an incident on 23 March where a scaffolding company director saved a colleague who collapsed at a yard in Netherton. [3]
