Nathan Huband, managing director of Ascent Access Scaffolding in Stourbridge, saved the life of his colleague Raj Soni on 23 March, Roofing Today reported. Soni, a father of eight who has worked with Huband for over 20 years, collapsed at the firm's former yard on Saltwells Road in Netherton, near Dudley. [1]

According to Roofing Today, Huband used cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills that he had learned during a first aid training course. Huband stated that his training automatically kicked in when the incident occurred. [1]

Huband noted that Soni was about to drive a truck shortly before he collapsed. He stated that the outcome could have been very different if Soni had been behind the wheel at the time of the medical emergency. [1]
