A three-year-old girl was rescued after slipping through a protective window grill on the 12th floor of an apartment block in Fujian, southern China, on Saturday. Metro.co.uk reported that the child was left dangling by her head from the window shield. [1]
Neighbours and a security guard quickly rushed to assist the child, who was wearing pink pyjamas. Metro.co.uk and NDTV both reported that bystanders balanced a chair or stool underneath the girl to support her weight while waiting for emergency rescuers to gain entry to the apartment. [1][3]
The quick actions of the neighbours taking her weight on the chair prevented the girl from falling through the small gap in the window frame before rescuers arrived inside. [1]
