English professional boxer Raven Chapman has revealed that the swift actions of her trainer, Stuart Scott, may have saved her life after she suffered a brain bleed during training. The BBC reported that the 32-year-old collapsed following a sparring session in Denmark on 24 July 2026. [1][2]

Scott immediately called for an ambulance, and Chapman was airlifted to a hospital. Doctors placed her in a medically induced coma and diagnosed her with a brain haematoma and cerebral oedema. Traumatic brain injuries can result from external force and range in severity, with outcomes varying from full recovery to permanent disability. [1][3]

Chapman told BBC South Today that the incident occurred during her third sparring session of the week, when she had initially felt fine. She described the condition as a freak injury that she never expected to experience. [1]

Chapman is an English professional boxer who previously challenged for the WBC female featherweight title. She was also involved in the inaugural British female featherweight title fight. [2]
