Two men have been sentenced following a retrial for the fatal attack on Reece Radford, who intervened to protect a teenager in Sheffield in 2022.

Two men have been jailed following a retrial at Leeds Crown Court relating to the murder of 26-year-old Reece Radford in Sheffield, Yorkshire Live reported. Louis James had his murder conviction upheld, while Dereck Owusu was found guilty of manslaughter rather than murder. [1]

The fatal incident took place on September 29, 2022, at Arundel Gate in Sheffield city centre, according to Yorkshire Live. Radford intervened when he saw a 17-year-old girl being physically assaulted by Owusu. Owusu and James then turned on Radford, and James stabbed him. As HEROIC BREAKING NEWS reported earlier, Radford stepped in directly to protect the teenager from the ongoing assault. [1][11]

Owusu and James were originally jailed in 2023 after a jury convicted both men of murder, Yorkshire Live reported. Following the recent retrial, the two men were sent back to prison, sheffieldtelegraph.co.uk reported. [1][8]
