Texas school district names new elementary school after longtime custodian Marilyn Hampton

A school district in Texas has named a new elementary school after a custodian who served the local educational community for nearly four decades, Good News Network and International Business Times UK both reported. Marilyn Hampton, known as Miss Marilyn, worked as a custodian for the Aubrey Independent School District for 39 years. [1][2]

According to Good News Network, Hampton was the first among her seven siblings to graduate from high school. After completing her high school education, she began her career as a custodian for the school district. Good News Network noted that although she did not earn a college degree, she established an incredible legacy as an educator during her time with the district. [1]

International Business Times UK reported that Hampton dedicated her 39-year career to helping students throughout the school system. Good News Network added that despite her long tenure and impact on students, Hampton had at times struggled with personal feelings of inferiority because she had not attended college. [1][2]

The naming of the new elementary school formally recognizes her 39 years of continuous work and support for students within the Aubrey Independent School District, Good News Network and International Business Times UK reported. [1][2]
