Two women saved the life of an 18-year-old girl in Alicante after cushioning her fall from a third-floor window with a mattress, Sur in English reported. The incident occurred during the early hours of 17 October on Calle Agost. [1]

According to Sur in English, the two women carried the mattress out of their flat and positioned it on the street directly under the window moments before the girl jumped. Emergency service patrols had been dispatched by the 112 control centre following an initial report. [1]

Sur in English reported that the improvised mattress placement cushioned the impact of the fall. The victim remained conscious although disoriented after landing. [1]

The 18-year-old was taken to Hospital General Alicante following the fall, Sur in English reported. She subsequently recovered from her injuries at the hospital. [1]
