A motorcyclist has been reunited with the air ambulance paramedic who helped save his life following a crash in Cumbria, the News and Star reported. Sam Ford-Powell, aged 23, was riding his bike to a friend's house on May 4, 2025, when he was thrown over the handlebars on the A596 near Siddick. [1]
According to the News and Star, Mr Ford-Powell suffered life-threatening injuries during the incident. His injuries included splitting his jaw in two, crushing the base of his skull, and sustaining stable fractures around his neck and spine. [1]
The News and Star reported that Mr Ford-Powell described losing control of his bike after attempting to overtake a car around a corner. He managed to stabilise the motorcycle briefly, but the tyres crossed onto a different section of tarmac, causing the bike to wobble before the initial impact occurred to his head. [1]
As HEROIC BREAKING NEWS reported earlier in a separate case, medical emergency responders frequently perform vital interventions in life-threatening situations before patients recover to meet the crews who treated them. [3]
