A woman named Ann from Gloucestershire has pledged a gift in her Will to the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity after surviving a sudden cardiac arrest at her home, InYourArea reported. She collapsed unexpectedly following a routine morning spent walking her dogs and speaking with her family. [1]

Her life was saved through a rapid chain of emergency care that began immediately after her collapse, according to InYourArea. Her daughter arrived and performed emergency CPR with the assistance of a passing postman before professional medical personnel reached the scene. [1]

The local ambulance service and the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity arrived shortly after to deliver critical care and place her on life support, InYourArea reported. Ann has now pledged a financial gift in her Will to ensure the air ambulance charity can continue supporting future emergency rescues. [1]

As HEROIC BREAKING NEWS reported earlier, community response and rapid defibrillator intervention remain vital in cardiac arrest emergencies. A grandfather who suffered a cardiac arrest during a Middlesbrough parkrun in March 2024 was similarly saved by off-duty paramedics using a defibrillator before backing national heart awareness initiatives.
