Florida teachers Maren and David Douglass installed a wooden bench at the end of their driveway to help a middle school student who waits for her school bus at that location. Good News Network reported that the couple noticed the student sitting on the ground while waiting for transport. [1]

The couple first saw the girl sitting in the dirt through their home surveillance camera. The area lacked a sidewalk to protect the student from passing road traffic, according to details reported by People magazine and published by Good News Network. [1]

To improve safety and comfort for the student, Maren and David Douglass decided to build and place the bench directly at the assigned bus stop location. Footage captured by their camera showed the young girl jumping for joy upon discovering the new bench. [1]
