Humanitarian organizations led by the United Nations are increasing preparations for the upcoming winter season in Gaza while military attacks continue across the area, UN News reported on Wednesday. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs stated that humanitarians have brought in fuel, plastic tarpaulins, winter clothing, medicines, and medical supplies to assist local populations. According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, multiple airstrikes, shelling, demolition blasts, naval fire, and shooting were recorded over two days across all governorates in Gaza. The attacks occurred particularly west of the Yellow Line established by Israeli authorities. UN News reported that despite the arrival of new supplies, the items remain insufficient to meet the needs of the population. [1]

The conflict in the Gaza Strip began on October 7, 2023, following an attack led by the Palestinian group Hamas that killed 1,195 Israelis and foreign nationals and took 251 hostages. The ensuing Israeli military offensive has resulted in the deaths of more than 74,000 Palestinians in Gaza. [2]
