An animal welfare non-governmental organization in Rajasthan fitted a cow with a prosthetic leg after an accident severed its limb, the Lokmat Times reported. The animal was left unable to move after losing its left leg in a collision in Ghodaghati, located within the Rajsamand district. [1]

Experts from the Narayan Seva Sansthan organization responded to the incident and developed a special modular artificial limb to restore mobility to the cow, according to the Lokmat Times. Prashant Agarwal, the president of the organization, confirmed that the team constructed the device specifically to address the severe physical injury. [1]

Medical prostheses are artificial devices designed to replace missing body parts lost through physical trauma, disease, or congenital conditions. These implants work to restore normal bodily functions or provide physical support to the recipient. [3]

Rajasthan is located in northwestern India and covers more than 342,000 square kilometres, making it the largest state by area in the country. The fitting allowed the animal to successfully walk again following the intervention, the Lokmat Times reported on Friday. [1][4]
