Modern Woodmen Members Honor North Texas Volunteers for Senior and Veteran Service

Local volunteers in North Texas and the City of Denton were recognized recently for their extensive community service during a member event held by Modern Woodmen of America. The North Dallas Gazette reported that the honorees were recognized for giving countless hours of assistance to vulnerable populations in the area. [1]

The volunteers focused their work on supporting low-income seniors and military veterans. The North Dallas Gazette named Katrina McPherson, who works as the Service Coordinator for Fairoaks of Denton and Administrator for Leona’s Angels, among those honored. Nilsa Harris, the founder of Holiday Cheer for Seniors, was also recognized for her efforts. [1]

Modern Woodmen of America is a fraternal benefit society that offers insurance products and investments to its members. The organization reported nearly 700,000 members and held 18.6 billion dollars in total assets. [2]
