Eighty children will pair up with local first responders on November 21 for the sixth annual Holiday with a Hero event, CollingwoodToday.ca reported. The initiative brings together firefighters, paramedics, police officers, and personnel from CFB Borden to connect with local youth. [1]

The event is organized by United Way Simcoe Muskoka in partnership with local emergency service workers. According to CollingwoodToday.ca, the initiative aims to break down barriers between first responders and vulnerable children in the community through a holiday celebration. [1]

As HEROIC BREAKING NEWS reported earlier, the event features a fully funded shopping spree where participating children purchase gifts for themselves. The schedule also includes breakfast, face painting, and cookie decorating activities for the youth. [6]

Organizers state that the program creates a positive experience for all participants. An official from United Way Simcoe Muskoka told CollingwoodToday.ca that the heroes, volunteers, and community partners all experience joy firsthand through participating in the event. [1]
