Good Samaritan rescues three people from burning boat offshore California

A good Samaritan vessel rescued three people off the coast of California after their boat caught fire, the National Enquirer reported citing the United States Coast Guard. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector San Francisco received a distress call shortly before noon on Friday regarding a 32-foot boat that was ablaze. [1]

The incident occurred approximately five miles west of Stinson Beach, according to the National Enquirer. The good Samaritan vessel spotted smoke coming from the 32-foot vessel and noticed a person on board waving their arms to signal for help. [1]

The United States Coast Guard launched a motor lifeboat to respond to the scene after receiving the report from the good Samaritan vessel, the National Enquirer reported. The good Samaritan was able to safely retrieve all three individuals from the distressed craft. [1]

Good Samaritan vessels regularly assist in maritime rescues off American coasts. As HEROIC BREAKING NEWS reported earlier, good Samaritan oilfield vessels previously helped rescue 42 crew members after a seismic survey ship caught fire in the Gulf of Mexico. [11]
