An 86-year-old man named Dale from Mineral Wells, Texas, is receiving support from strangers to complete a 62-foot steel boat built in his front yard, Good News Network reported. Dale began constructing the vessel in 1987 with the goal of sailing it to Alaska. [1]

The boat features four staterooms and is approximately 75 percent complete, according to Good News Network. However, Dale is no longer able to continue the heavy physical work alone due to his age. [1]

Moving the completed structure presents additional practical challenges. Good News Network reported that a steep hill between the boat and the road requires heavy machinery to transport the vessel out of the yard. [1]

A online movement is now rallying volunteers and resources to overcome these obstacles so Dale can achieve his long-held dream, according to Good News Network. [1]
