Laila El Moselhy, a 17-year-old resident of Fox Meadow in Scarsdale, New York, is manufacturing 3D-printed prosthetic hands and arms from her home. Scarsdale 10583 reported that her ongoing international effort has provided prosthetics to more than 20 people across more than ten countries. [1]

El Moselhy began her volunteer work at 14 years old. According to Scarsdale 10583, she uses a home 3D printer to create and assemble functional limbs for individuals who otherwise struggle to access adaptive devices. [1]

The process relies on additive manufacturing, which constructs three-dimensional objects from digital models by solidifying materials layer by layer under computer control. El Moselhy utilizes this technology to craft custom prosthetic components locally before sending them to recipients abroad. [1][4]

Scarsdale 10583 reported that her humanitarian project has caught the attention of filmmakers. A documentary featuring her work is scheduled for screening at a major film festival. [1]
