The Federal Government of Nigeria and the Jigawa State Government have distributed relief materials to 610 flood victims in Jigawa State. Head Topics reported that the distribution took place at the Warwade camp for internally displaced persons in Dutse, one year after severe flooding displaced hundreds of families across the region. [1]

Official oversight for the relief exercise was provided by the National Emergency Management Agency alongside state emergency officials. According to Head Topics, the joint distribution was designed to assist displaced families who lost their homes during the flood disaster. [1]

Jigawa is located in the North-west region of Nigeria along the national border with the Republic of Niger. The state was created in August 1991 from part of Kano State and features 27 local government areas, with Dutse serving as its capital city. [3]
