The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center distributed 977 food baskets on Wednesday in Yemen's Abyan Governorate, according to the Saudi Press Agency. The delivery provided aid to 977 families, comprising 6,839 individuals in the region. [1]

The distribution targeted displaced persons, members of local host communities, and persons with disabilities. The aid effort is part of a broader emergency response project operating in Yemen, the Saudi Press Agency reported. [1]

The center serves as the centralized government agency responsible for managing and coordinating international humanitarian aid and relief operations for Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is the second-largest donor of humanitarian aid globally behind the United States. [2]

This relief effort follows earlier work by the agency in the region. As HEROIC BREAKING NEWS reported earlier, the center previously supplied drinking water to 140 displaced families comprising 748 individuals in the Tuban District of Yemen's Lahj Governorate. [6]
