The Indian Navy carried out airlifts of relief supplies to flood affected villages in the state of Odisha, DD India reported. The operations targeted isolated communities where road connectivity was cut off and villages remained submerged due to severe flooding following Cyclone Arnab. [1]

The Eastern Naval Command conducted aerial relief missions in the Ganjam district of Odisha for a second consecutive day, according to DD India. The Odisha government also initiated the airdropping of food packets in regions affected by the floods, The New Indian Express reported. [1][2]

State authorities expanded rescue efforts to reach stranded individuals across the region, OrissaPOST reported. National Herald noted that Cyclone Arnab caused three deaths and left thousands of residents affected by widespread flooding. As HEROIC BREAKING NEWS reported earlier, firefighters in Ganjam district previously rescued ten individuals trapped in a swollen canal while traveling to conduct landslide operations. [3][4][11]

Cyclone Arnab made landfall between October 28 and October 29 as a very severe cyclonic storm with wind speeds reaching 125 to 135 kilometres per hour, Grokipedia documented. The storm weakened as it moved inland, but heavy rains continued to impact coastal areas. Emergency teams continue relief deployments as the state addresses the consequences of the storm and monitors further weather developments, according to The Times of India. [5][9]
