The European Space Agency's Copernicus Sentinel 3C satellite has delivered its first set of Earth images two weeks after its launch, Good News Network reported. The initial transmissions include images of Italy, the Canadian Arctic, and the Caribbean. [1]

The images were captured using the ocean and land color instrument on the satellite, Good News Network reported. The first natural-color photograph provided detailed view of Italy. [1]

Good News Network also noted that the spacecraft gathered measurements of the Greenland ice sheet and sea surface levels. These readings were taken using its synthetic aperture radar altimeter. [1]

Satellites are artificial spacecraft placed into orbit to fulfill various roles, including Earth observation, scientific research, weather forecasting, and navigation. The Copernicus Programme operated by the European Space Agency uses data from its satellite constellations for marine monitoring, land monitoring, and emergency responses to environmental disasters.
