Colorado Springs firefighter rescues puppy trapped inside deep hole

Firefighter Alberson of Colorado Springs Engine 10 successfully rescued a puppy trapped in a deep, narrow hole, Yahoo reported. The engine company responded to the scene after the small animal fell into the opening and was unable to climb out. [1]

Video footage released by the Colorado Springs Fire Department shows Alberson carefully reaching down into the tight space while the puppy waited at the bottom. The department praised the firefighter, explaining that his height and long reach were crucial factors in reaching the dog. [1]

The Colorado Springs Fire Department previously managed large-scale emergencies in the area, such as the 2012 Waldo Canyon fire in the nearby Pike National Forest, which burned 18,247 acres and forced the evacuation of over 32,000 residents. [2]
