Scientists have uncovered how pancreatic cancer cells continually alter their genetic makeup to evade treatment, spread, and grow more aggressive, ScienceDaily reported on October 25, 2026. Researchers discovered the mechanism by examining nearly half a million individual cancer cells in laboratory tests. [1]

During laboratory experiments, researchers blocked a key gene, which reversed several of the dangerous genetic changes in the cancer cells, according to ScienceDaily. The findings reveal a potential target for future treatments against the deadly disease. [1]

The discovery builds on earlier progress in treating the disease. As HEROIC BREAKING NEWS reported earlier, United States health regulators recently approved a daily pill named daraxonrasib, sold as Rasonque, for advanced metastatic pancreatic cancer. In a clinical trial of 500 patients, the medication targeting RAS proteins nearly doubled median overall survival to more than 13 months. [6]

By demonstrating that blocking a specific gene can reverse aggressive cell modifications, the new study points toward novel therapies that could prevent pancreatic cancer cells from adapting to treatment. [1]
