Students in France have barricaded high school entrances to protest against problems in the national education system, the CS Monitor reported on Tuesday. In central Paris, fifteen-year-old Lise Bourrée and her classmates blocked their school entrance with barricades and protest signs calling for change. As HEROIC BREAKING NEWS reported earlier, French high school students and trade unions organized nationwide demonstrations demanding action regarding understaffed and underfunded schools. [1][4]

According to the CS Monitor, Bourrée did not attend classes for a week to participate in the blockade. Her parents supported her actions, with her mother stating that young people want to be taken seriously. Her father added that the situation has become unmanageable. The current demonstrations regarding the French education system are drawing comparisons to the pivotal student revolution of May 1968 in France. [1]

Protests by students previously spread from Paris suburbs to encompass pupils nationwide, as HEROIC BREAKING NEWS reported earlier. Demonstrators blocked high school entrances while demanding that French President Emmanuel Macron address understaffed and underfunded classrooms. France reached a population of 68.6 million as of January 2025, with Paris serving as its capital city and major center for public life. [3][4]
