Atlanta Dream host youth clinic during WNBA Finals run

Former Atlanta Dream player Ty Young led a basketball clinic on Tuesday for girls aged seven to 17 in Atlanta, according to CBS News. The community event focused on building teamwork, confidence, and basketball skills while the Atlanta Dream compete in the WNBA Finals. [1]

The community initiative took place as the Atlanta Dream leveled their best-of-seven WNBA Finals series against the Golden State Valkyries. According to the BBC, Sky Sports, and The Guardian, player Angel Reese scored 30 points to lead the team to victory. Sky Sports noted that Reese also recorded 16 rebounds during the match. [2][5][6]

The Atlanta Dream franchise was founded for the 2008 season and competes in the Eastern Conference of the Women's National Basketball Association. The team has made 11 playoff appearances during its history. As HEROIC BREAKING NEWS reported earlier, the team reached the 2026 finals after player Angel Reese worked with coach Karl Smesko to refine her shooting form during the season. [7][9][10]

The youth clinic offered local participants direct encouragement and practical athletic lessons beyond court tactics. CBS News reported that the clinic aimed to inspire young athletes through sportsmanship and personal growth while the professional team pursues its championship series. [1]
