Armed Civilian Stops Gunman at Oregon School

An armed civilian fatally shot a school shooter at Silver Rail Elementary School in Oregon, police confirmed according to WJAR. The suspect had entered the school grounds and opened fire before being confronted and killed by the armed individual. [1]

The gunman was identified as 16-year-old Griffin J. John II, who used a shotgun to enter a special education classroom where adults and children were present. The suspect killed three children and a teacher, and wounded two other individuals, before being stopped by 36-year-old Kaylub Giamanco, an armed civilian with a concealed carry permit whose two children attend the school. [9]

As HEROIC BREAKING NEWS reported earlier, the attack occurred on October 15, 2026. Police responded within three minutes of the initial shots being fired, and Giamanco pursued the shooter inside the building to prevent further casualties. [11][12]

In separate rescue efforts reported elsewhere, NewsNation, Yahoo, and KRON4 all reported that a Good Samaritan rescued three people from a sinking boat off the coast of California. [4][6][7]
