Ryan Troisi of West Palm Beach is training to run his first full marathon following eight years of sobriety, Hoodline reported. His decision to attempt the 26.2-mile distance began unexpectedly after he entered a shorter race without adequate preparation. [1]

According to Hoodline, Troisi spent much of his twenties in and out of addiction. His perspective shifted after he participated in a 5K during last year's Palm Beaches Marathon weekend, an experience that WPBF reported motivated him to sign up for the full distance in 2026. [1]

Troisi is scheduled to compete in the U.S. Polo Assn. Palm Beaches Marathon, Hoodline reported. West Palm Beach is the county seat of Palm Beach County, Florida, situated directly west of Palm Beach across the Lake Worth Lagoon. [1][2]
